FERMA RESIDENCES
We Create Destinations. Where architecture becomes experience.
This development of three independent residences in Ferma, Crete, was conceived with a clear objective: not simply to create holiday homes, but to shape a destination that offers an authentic sense of place from the very first moment of arrival.
The site is located within an established settlement, where the sea lies approximately 300 meters away. While the views towards the Libyan Sea become fully visible from the upper levels, the design challenge was to ensure that the experience at ground level would be equally compelling. Rather than relying solely on distant sea views, the architectural concept focuses on creating a rich and immersive environment within the development itself.
Inspired by the character of traditional Cretan settlements, the residences are arranged around a carefully designed landscape of water, stone, vegetation and outdoor living spaces. Natural materials, handcrafted Cretan stone, shaded courtyards, pergolas and flowing water elements work together to create an atmosphere that immediately evokes the essence of Crete.
The positioning and orientation of each residence were carefully studied to optimize privacy, maximize views from the first-floor living spaces and bedrooms, and minimize the visual impact of surrounding buildings. Particular attention was given to the relationship between the architecture and its context, allowing each residence to enjoy its own unique outlook while maintaining harmony with the natural and built environment.
The result is a residential retreat where architecture, landscape and local identity come together to create a memorable experience—one that celebrates the spirit of Crete while offering comfort, privacy and a strong connection to its surroundings.
More than a collection of homes, this is a destination designed to be experienced.
